Reasons Why Hydroponic Plans Fail

Hydroponic systems are now becoming popular to people who are interested to know different ways of growing plants. Although growing plants in this setup is not as easy as planting them on the soil, the challenge and the fulfillment that goes with the activity gives enough motivation to try it. To implement these kinds of systems, hydroponic plans are necessary. The plans reflect the blueprint of how the nutrients will be passed on from a water and nutrient reservoir to the roots of the plants. There are simple and highly technical ways to do it. Depending on the availability of resources, you can choose which one will be best for your setup, budget and time allocation.

Hydroponic plans can be passive and active. The active ones incorporate automation in the system and do not require much attention as passive systems. The automation is designed to schedule and time the transfer of ph nutrients to the plants.

Regardless of the type of hydroponic plan adopted, some end up successful in maximizing hydroponics setup and tend to grow more with this technology. However, there are those who repeatedly fail without knowing the main reasons for the failure.

Here, I will enumerate the major reasons why some hydroponic plans are not successful.

Reason #1: The kind of plants used is inappropriate for the setup.

For some hydroponics setup, the size of the plants matters. For the passive wick setup, bigger plants will not get the required ph nutrients because the consumption is faster than the supply of the nutrients. These kinds of hydroponic plans will never work out.

Reason #2: The plants do not get the ph nutrients that they need.

Without an accurate basis for the supply of the ph nutrients, the plants can either be short-changed or drowned with too much. A solid basis for the requirements should be measured based on the size and type of the plants. You have to consult an expert to determine the exact nutrients to supply to the plants and the interval of the supply.

Reason #3: Negligence in monitoring the hydroponics setup.

For beginners, it is very important to closely monitor the implementation of hydroponic plans. You should ensure that your plants are getting the nutrients that they need. If you are using an active setup, you have to regularly check if the pumps and timers are working. One day of intervention in providing the nutrients to your plants will greatly affect your plants’ health and growth.

These are the basic reasons why hydroponic plans fail. There should be a high level of commitment to make it succeed and the required attention should always be there to ensure optimum and superior results.
